Faculty Bio 2023:

Mary Lauren Scott, MD serves as the Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Director and is the Director of the High-Risk Diabetes Clinics here at Children’s of Alabama. She is a graduate of LSU-New Orleans Medical School, UAB Med-Peds Residency, and UAB Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship. She serves as the site PI for the T1D Exchange National Collaborative for Quality Improvement. She sits on the local JDRF (juvenile diabetes research foundation) volunteer board and is the walk team captain for team “Try and Dia-beat-us”. She is the 2023 JDRF Alabama Chapter Volunteer of the year. She has lived with type 1 Diabetes for over 30 years and has special interests in diabetes technology, patients and caregivers experiencing burn out, and non-adherence to treatment.
