Internal users are those that are employed by or do their daily work at Children's of Alabama. These users already have an account.
EX: COA employees, UAB Peds physicians, UAB CRNA/CRNP's, UAB administration that are located on the Children's campuses.

The Children's of Alabama Continuing Medical Education Program, established in 1977, strives to continually improve quality of care by providing high quality educational activities which are relevant to the hospital's mission, the patient population served, and the types of services provided. The CME Program is a direct responsibility of the Board of Trustees and the Medical Executive Committee and is accredited by the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.

The Children's of Alabama CME Program accredits a variety of activities and is supported by the Children's of Alabama CME Committee and the Medical Education Resources Department. All educational content contained in our CME activities is planned in accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support – Standards to Ensure the Independence of CME Activities.

The mission of Children’s of Alabama is to provide the finest pediatric health services to all children in an environment that fosters excellence in research and medical education. Children’s will be an advocate for all children and work to educate the public about issues affecting children's health and well-being.

Children’s of Alabama Continuing Medical Education Expected Results

The expected result of the Continuing Medical Education Program of Children’s of Alabama’s educational activities is that participating physicians enhance their knowledge, competence and skills in the subject area(s) offered, and apply the knowledge and skills to improve competence, performance and/or patient outcomes in their practice settings. All CME activities are expected to result in improved quality and delivery of care to the pediatric patient as measured by physician questionnaires, hospital collected data, and/or local/state/national data on patient outcomes.
