Overview
Using evidence-based medicine, this conference will update the state of the art in evidence-based clinical practice for the listed conditions. Application of these updates will lead to more effective practices and improve clinical outcomes. 

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to: 

  1. List the more common congenital heart lesions that present in the newborn period.
  2. Describe the embryology and structure of the newborn skin.
  3. List the fundamental questions addressed by the model for improvement.
  4. Discuss the etiology and outcomes of severe IVH in preterm infants.
  5. Document the progression of oral feeding in the preterm infant.
  6. List the more common congenital heart lesions that present in the newborn period.
  7. Discuss the epidemiology of drug withdrawal in a newborn.
  8. Assist parents in understanding the benefits of book sharing for their infant(s) and for themselves.
