Overview
With rare diseases being common in primary care, an avenue is needed to achieve confidence in treating patients with co-morbid rare diseases that they have when treating the general population.  Rare disease knowledge and awareness are the lowest among primary care physicians.

Objectives
Upon completion of this live activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the current capabilities of 'omics-based molecular diagnostics for rare genetic disorders.
  2. Identify novel, scalable approaches to the provision of genetic counseling in the context of population genetic testing.
  3. Explain approaches to genetic variant discovery and interpretation.
  4. Address health disparities in rare disease communities.
  5. Review the changes that have occurred in telehealth regulatory and reimbursement during the public health emergency.
  6. Discuss potential for repurposing drugs to address rare diseases.
