Overview
This Behavioral Health ECHO series is the eleventh series offered by the PATHS program since its' inception in 2019. This series will provide learning around a wide range of behavioral health topics designed to support pediatric primary care providers who are caring for children/adolescents with mental health concerns.

Objectives
  1. Recognize and differentiate between symptoms of pediatric behavior disorders.
  2. Identify symptoms of behavior disorders that overlap with other mental health disorders
  3. Identify options for the treatment of behavior disorders and other mental health disorders.
  4. Differentiate between routines and schedules
  5. Identify the importance of routines and how they benefit behavior in children
  6. Identify ways to implement simple routines in the home
  7. Describe the impact of mental health illness on high-risk sexual behaviors among adolescents.
  8. Explain risk of unintended pregnancy in adolescents with mental health illness
  9. Apply practice guidelines for the initiation of effective pharmacological options for contraception in adolescents with mental health illness.
  10. Identify and diagnose anxiety
  11. Identify the epidemiology of anxiety disorders
  12. Recognize the common risk factors, signs, and triggers of anxiety
  13. Identify options for the treatment of anxiety and the management of symptoms
  14. Participants will be able to list common sleep problems in children and adolescents.
  15. Participants will be able to list the impact of sleep problems on children and adolescents.
  16. Participants will be able to identify strategies to improve sleep.
  17. Identify malnutrition diagnosis criteria
  18. Distinguish appropriate nutrition-interventions for various eating disorders.
  19. Identify further treatment options for patients with eating disorders.

Children's of Alabama designates this Enduring Material for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Children’s of Alabama is accredited by the Medical Association of the State of Alabama to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
