Overview
The Child Abuse Quarterly Peer Review is held every quarter from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM via Zoom. The discussions are presented by a faculty member of the Child Abuse Pediatrics Division to discuss patient cases that are unusual and may not be frequently seen.

Objectives
  1. Positively identify the signs of physical abuse in children along with the medical conditions that mimic sexual and/or physical abuse.
  2. Recognize normal genital anatomy of male and female children and adolescents.
  3. Recognize abnormal genital anatomy of both male and female children and adolescents.
  4. Identify appropriate laboratory tests to perform in evaluating sexually abused children.
  5. Describe the significance of sexually transmitted infections in potentially abused children.
  6. Identify cutaneous signs of physical abuse.

Accreditation

Children's of Alabama designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Children’s of Alabama is accredited by the Medical Association of the State of Alabama to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
