Overview
The care of children with brain tumors requires an integrated multidisciplinary group of physicians and ancillary health care workers to manage all aspects of their diseases and provide the best, most current therapies for these patients. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Board allows this multidisciplinary team to come together to discuss each patient (new and recurrent patients), to learn about care and management options, and to determine the best course of action.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the pathologic features of the disease processes discussed.
  2. Recognize the neurosurgical aspects of curative and symptomatic approaches to care
  3. Describe the diagnostic and imaging tools to evaluate the processes discussed
  4. Describe the current radiation and chemotherapy treatment options for the processes discussed
  5. Apply the information discussed to the care of patients
