Overview

Caring for children with cancer, sickle cell disease or those needing a bone marrow transplant is complex and requires a multi- specialty practice with participation from providers across the healthcare spectrum.  The needs to be addressed are the lack of knowledge regarding newer treatments for children with cancer and blood disorders including bone marrow transplant.


Objectives
Upon completion of this live activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize and review diagnosis and current management options for a variety of illnesses related to the field of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.
  2. Recognize and utilize new advances in technology and physician practice for the diagnosis, care, and treatment of the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patient.
  3. Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to provide optimal outcomes for the Pediatric Hem/Onc patient.
  4. Discuss improvement methodology to provide quality care for the Pediatric Hem/Onc patient.
